Cleaning solvents may lead to brain shrinkage among locomotive maintenance crews who degrease power. Researchers cited CSX shops in Cumberland, Md. and Huntington, W.Va. At left, an Amtrak Acela Express trainset, when it was brand new and didn’t even have its number decals applied yet, was undergoing a check-up at the railroad’s Boston high-speed engine and car shop.
