Trainman Joe Mays, who is a conductor and car checker, among other things, reviews the list of things that were repaired on insulated boxcar CSXT 199557. He’s checking to make sure they were done right. “The insulation is foam and wood,” he says, adding, “All that’s left to do is check the air brakes.” He’ll bring a portable air brake stand out to the car to make the test.
