Sounder ridership soars – Ridership on Washington State’s Sounder commuter train service was up 51 percent in the second quarter of 2006, compared to a year earlier. CEO Joni Earl, said on Friday, “In the second quarter of this year, the total ridership on our trains and buses increased 16 percent from the same time a year ago. Ridership increased on all of our services – ST Express buses, Tacoma Link light rail and Sounder commuter rail.”
