Sound Transit

Sounder ridership soars – Ridership on Washington State’s Sounder commuter train service was up 51 percent in the second quarter of 2006, compared to a year earlier. Here, commuters board a Sounder at Auburn Station on a recent morning commute. CEO Joni Earl, said on Friday, “In the second quarter of this year, the total ridership on our trains and buses increased 16 percent from the same time a year ago. Ridership increased on all of our services – ST Express buses, Tacoma Link light rail and Sounder commuter rail.”
